Can You Reprogram Your Mind With Subliminal Messages... ...That appears to be the promise of the research of Eldon Taylor, Ph.D. He outlines his research as well as others in the book, "Subliminal Communications". I just got done reading the book. Here's my review... Subliminal Communication (A book Review) What's it all about? The book presents the evidence for subliminal communication, including case studies, the authors own research, as well as many other researchers. The author also covers the basics of the Law and subliminal messages, how to make your own subliminal messages, and theory and principles behind subliminal communication.
What's the author's background? Dr. Eldon Taylor is a criminologist specializing in forensic hypnosis and the detection of deception. He conducted some of the first subliminal research with prison inmates.
My review... Dr. Eldon Taylor writes the book with a bias toward subliminal messages being real. So, don't expect an unbiased evaluation of the technology. Having said that the book outlines many studies that build his case that subliminal communication is real, and can be used for both positive and negative mind conditioning. He also covers his own research with prison inmates and subliminal messages. What's more interesting to me though is he covers the different technologies that are used to create subliminal messages, and covers some of the theory behind the technology. He also covers much of the psychological theory in how you should structure your subliminal messages to create a positive effect. And more importantly prevent unknowing causing a negative effect. ... That to me was the most valuable part of the book.
Who's it for I would say this is a good premier for anyone interested in the potential of subliminal communication and mind conditioning. Also anyone who may be concerned about the ramifications of covert subliminals may want to read this book so they are familiar with the technology and research behind it. Final thoughts Overall I found this book to be interesting, written in plain understandable english, and I found it well worth my time reading it. Related links... |
